In Scripture, answers from heaven rarely arrive with trumpets and fireworks.

More often, they appear quietly… almost shyly.

Let’s go back to Elijah — one of Scripture’s clearest examples of how to pray and receive answers.

You know the story.

Israel had suffered 3½ years of drought.

Elijah starts to pray for rain.

He bows down, places his face between his knees, and begins intercession.

He prays once…

then sends his servant to look.

Nothing.

Most Christians would have stopped here.

Elijah didn’t.

He prayed again.

And again.

And again.

Still nothing.

Until the seventh time, when the servant returned and said:

“I see a cloud rising out of the sea, as small as a man’s hand.”

That tiny cloud was not the rain.

It was not the breakthrough.

It wasn’t even close.

But Elijah instantly recognized:

The moment he saw it, everything changed.

He didn’t hesitate.

He didn’t second-guess.

He didn’t pray again to “make sure.”

He stood up and declared:

“Prepare your chariot — the rain is coming.”

And within moments, the sky turned black with clouds, the winds shifted, and the long-awaited breakthrough arrived.

Elijah didn’t get his answer on the first prayer…

or the fifth…

or even the sixth.

He kept praying until the GO Signal appeared.

The tiny cloud was God saying:

“Yes. The answer is released.
Now act as if it’s done.”

Most believers never get this far.
